Function:

• Can only be used with Festool Guide Rails.
• Cutting across a 4×8-foot workpiece with the common 55” (1,400mm) guide rail leaves the track saw unguided at the beginning and/or end of the cut, resulting in an edge that may not be straight.
• The 13-5/8 inch guide rail extension provides the extra guide rail track needed when cutting 48” wide plywood so the track saw fully contacts guide rail track throughout the cut.

TSO Guide Rail Extension Checklist – typical use: cutting 4 foot wide plywood

• The 13 inch guide rail extension provides the extra guide rail track needed when cutting 48” wide plywood so the track saw fully contracts the guide rail track throughout the cut.
• When saw is plunged to begin the cut, the blade should not contact your material.
• Choose a guide rail length that allow you, at the beginning of the cut, to plunge without hitting the wood (& all 4 track saw cams fully contact the guide rail track) and at the end of the cut allows you finish the cut with all 4 track saw cams fully contacting the guide rail tracks. Connect tracks and extension together as necessary.
• Typically for the thickest of boards, a good starting point is to position the beginning of the guide rail 10 inches in front of your workpiece and 4 inches past the end of your workpiece.
